Unlucky in love Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) finds himself interested in a new face in Coronation Street soon, but things don’t exactly get off to the best of starts.
Todd’s last romance storyline involved Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) carer Moses (Michael Fatogun). The two residents enjoyed spending time with each other, but their potential future was destroyed when Moses lost his job.
This only happened because Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) reported Moses when she thought he was skiving. He was let go, and then told Todd that he’d be moving to London.
In upcoming episodes, Todd starts his week continuing to focus on his mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) and aunt Julie (Katy Cavanagh). He sorts a trip to a cocktail bar but just as they head to the tram, Julie experiences an intense pain.

She leans on a wall to try and support herself, but fails to spot a piece of scaffolding falling. It narrowly misses her and moments later, worker Theo (James Cartwright) arrives and apologises.
Despite doing this, he is seen telling George (Tony Maudsley) that Julie was clearly faking her pain, because the scaffolding missed her by miles.
George tells him that Julie has cancer and Theo is mortified.
Wanting to ease his guilt, he tells Todd that he’d like to buy Julie some flowers. Clearly enjoying Theo’s presence, Todd offers him a smile and then shows him the way.
In the week, Todd updates Julie on the situation with Theo, but reckons he isn’t interested.

Julie decides to hatch a plan and gets Theo over by claiming that they’ve got a leaky roof. At Number 11, Theo finds Todd alone and realises that he’s been set up. He spells out to Todd that he’s not gay, and would appreciate it if he’d leave him well alone.
Todd respects Theo’s comments and later, they have a drink and start to get to know each other.
After enjoying time with his new pal, Todd heads home and opens a dating app. He flirts with a guy on there and when he eventually sends a picture, Todd is thrilled to see that it’s Theo.
He’s clearly made an impact on Todd, just what will happen next between these two characters?
Discussing his character, James Cartwright said: ‘I think Theo is a good guy, he comes in with the best of intentions, as most people do, but he may upset some people with his behaviour.’
‘I had a line the other day where I said: “I think I left my trousers in the bedroom” so make of that what you will.’
‘I was very excited, a lot of my memories growing up as a young boy were settling down with my gran after tea, she’d make me a crumpet and we’d sit there and watch Corrie.
‘I feel like it’s a great honour to be a part of something that’s brought joy to people for so long.’
