OFF AIR Coronation Street in yet another schedule shake up as ITV soap fails to air tonight

CORONATION Street has fallen victim to another schedule shake-up.

So far this month, ITV has continually ripped up the schedules which has seen Corrie booted from its usual timeslots.

Sporting coverage will take precedent once again

As part of ongoing sporting events, Coronation Street has been pulled from the schedules once again.

No episode will be broadcast at 8pm this evening with coverage of the UEFA Women’s Nation League taking priority and airing from 7:30pm instead.

However, Corrie fans won’t have lost out on the episode altogether.

An additional trip to Weatherfield was screened on Tuesday this week to make up for Friday’s missing episode.

This week, fans of Coronation Street have watched on as actress Katy Cavanagh reprised her role of Julie Carp after ten years away from the show.

But her return has been clouded by the fact she appears to be hiding a big secret from her sister, Eileen Grimshaw.

Her first scenes saw her reunite with nephew Todd and meet her sister’s partner, George, for the first time who apparently did not recognise Julie despite a huge picture of her having hung in Eileen’s house for over a decade.

Todd and George then filled Julie in on other goings on on the cobbles including Jesse’s recent return and she was as bemused as the rest of the nation.

George tried to convince Julie to book in for a brunch the next day for her reunion with Eileen but Julie brushed him off, insisting she would take her chances instead.

But after saying goodbye to George, Julie sharpened and revealed she had no intentions of seeing Eileen.

And in fact she had no intentions of staying in Weatherfield for more than a night.

Picking up her phone she said: “Hello Julie Carp here.

“I’d like to be picked up at 9am tomorrow from the Chariot Square Hotel. For Manchester Piccadilly. Thanks.”

But what is Julie hiding and why doesn’t she want to see her own sister?
