Emmerdale‘s Ruby announces plans to change her surname in tonight’s episode.
Ruby shares her intentions with her husband Caleb, explaining that she wants to cut all association with her abusive father Anthony Fox.
The show’s latest episode sees Ruby and Caleb meet up with Kim Tate to finalise the handover of Home Farm land.
Kim recently agreed to sign over a significant amount of land to Ruby and Caleb, in exchange for them dropping their vendetta against Joe Tate following the kidney-stealing scandal.

The Home Farm boss teamed up with Cain Dingle to organise a fragile truce between the warring families. However, she later told Joe that she had an ulterior motive behind the plan and wanted to keep a close eye on Caleb.
In tonight’s episode, Caleb notices that Ruby signs the land contract with the shortened name ‘Ruby Miligan’ rather than using ‘Ruby Fox-Miligan’.
She replies: “No more ‘Fox’. I’m going to get it changed officially too. It feels good to let it go.”
As of today’s episode, Ruby is named as Ruby Miligan in Emmerdale‘s closing credits for the first time to reflect her decision.

Earlier this year, Emmerdale revealed that Ruby was sexually abused by her father Anthony when she was a teenager. A flashback episode explored the devastating storyline.
The story led to Ruby killing Anthony during a frightening showdown at Caleb’s depot. Ruby, Caleb, Aaron, John, Cain and Chas have all since been involved in covering up the crime.
John took charge of hiding Anthony’s body, claiming that he’d hidden it in a remote spot in the woods. However, he later admitted that he’d lied and it was better for the others not to know the true location.
