Days of Our Lives’ Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans posted a cute video from the show’s anniversary party.

Fifty-nine years for a television show is no small feat. And at that age, Days of Our Lives continues to deliver fun, thrilling, and dramatic stories. Moving over from the NBC broadcast channel to

the Peacock streaming service in 2022, fans worried it would end the beloved soap. However, the show got an anniversary surprise when it was announced that it was renewed for a 61st season.

Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans were at the show’s celebration party and shared a fun behind-the-scenes video.

Party On, Dudes (and Dudettes)

Nichols (Steve) and Evans (Kayla) shared a post on Instagram that stated, “And so are the days of our lives…Happy 59 years to the cast, crew, and fans! We love you all!♥️ #days #59years.” Along with the post was a video from the show’s celebration, which took place on the DAYS set. Many cast and crew were present, including executive producer Ken Corday. (Learn about Corday’s star on the Walk of Fame.)

Nichols shot the video with his phone, and Evans popped into view, displaying cookies with the DAYS logo and 59th as the frosting and calling everything “crazy.” She asked, “Are we the luckiest people in the world?” to which Nichols responded, “Yes, we are.” Evans hilariously couldn’t recall if the two of them had been on the show for 38 or 39 years, and Nichols clarified, “Coming up on 40.”

Happiness Was Everywhere

Nichols referred to Corday as their “Fearless Leader.” They had Corday move into the shot next to Evans, and the producer asked, “Is this selfie time?” Evans explained it was a video. And they all smiled and waved at the camera, saying, “Happy Anniversary.” The scene then cut to Nichols and Deidre Hall (Marlena) wishing each other a happy anniversary and giving each other a peck on the cheek.

It also showed the cake table with the individually wrapped cookies on one side, some of which had an hourglass as the frosting. A person cut into the delicious-looking cake with the DAYS logo on it with “59 Years!” written above it. Then, a montage of still images included Nichols and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie), Nichols and Evans with Abigail Klein (Stephanie), and two shots of the full cast and crew behind the cake table and under the special anniversary banner.

One longtime fan lovingly responded, “Happy 59th Anniversary to Days of Our Lives & all of the cast & crew past & present who have played such an important part in getting the show to this occasion! It truly is a celebration & everyone should be proud of this accomplishment! Love the show & all of you🥰 To many many more years of Days!🎉🎉🎉.”
