In Finn’s office, Poppy pleads with him not to tell Steffy. “Think this through.” Finn says everything he and his wife have faced, everything they’ve overcome… learning about Luna might be more than Steffy can take. Luna killed two men and now he’s found out she’s his daughter. How is he supposed to deal with that? How is Steffy supposed to deal with that?! Poppy says she won’t have to if he doesn’t tell her.
Finn can’t stop thinking about Luna and the connection they share. It changes everything. They go over Poppy not telling him because she wanted him to have the future he deserved. Finn can’t help but wonder… Sheila is Luna’s grandmother. Were the crimes she committed in her blood? Poppy tells him not to go there. Finn says his daughter and his birth mother have both tried to kill Steffy. He can’t imagine how she’ll react. Poppy says he doesn’t have to tell her. Finn exclaims, “Yes, I do!” He can’t keep something of this magnitude from her. “So, just stop it!” He tells Poppy to leave. They both need to plan for the fallout once everyone learns the truth about Luna’s paternity. Poppy grabs her handbag and goes. Shortly after, Li enters the office and asks, “Is that my sister I saw leaving?” Finn looks startled.
Taylor Worries About Steffy
At the Forrester mansion, Steffy gushes about her parents’ love and her husband. She says he’s supportive of what she’s doing at Forrester, and she feels grateful to get to go home to him. “Everything is really wonderful right now.” Taylor is grateful to their son-in-law for coming through for her. She hates to think what might have happened to her if he hadn’t rescued her from his very disturbed cousin.
Taylor asks Steffy if she’s doing alright. Steffy’s upset about the company, but she’s glad they’re back together. Taylor’s talking about what happened with Luna. She was a victim who survived. She wonders if she’s really dealt with the impact of it. “Are you still struggling with what you went through with Luna?” Steffy admits she still struggles. Ridge urges her to take time to heal, but she wants to be at Forrester. Taylor thinks it’s normal to try and distract herself, but it’s important to process. Steffy says Finn provides stability for her, but it’s tough knowing his birth mother tried to kill her and his cousin drugged her and tried to kill her too.
Bill and Luna are Shocked by Poppy’s Arrival
At Bill’s place, he teases Luna that she can’t get the ankle monitor off. She’s well aware she’s lucky to be there and not in a prison cell. She knows her mom and cousin tried to visit her there and asks Bill if they’ll ever find out she’s staying with him. Bill can see she’s remorseful, and given what she went through as a child, he believes she deserves a second chance. For now, he suggests she take it one day at a time and do the work. Right now, this is the only path forward. Luna imagines how hurt and disgusted Finn is by her. She’s been having a recurring dream of Finn with his family. She tries to approach them, but they run from her like she’s a terrifying monster. She calls out to them, but in the end, Finn always gives her one last look. He looks sad and disappointed. She gets a sensation in her stomach and there’s a string connecting her to Finn. “Somehow it gives me hope. Is that so naïve of me to think that Finn might somehow be able to see me differently?” He’s still family. Maybe they can redefine their relationship.
Bill warns Luna that any ideas she has about reunification are highly unlikely. She can see it as a distant goal that she can strive for, though it may not be obtainable. Bill takes a call and curses. He tells Luna her mother is there. “Go on. Go hide!” Luna skedaddles and Bill opens the door to Poppy. He’s surprised to see her back there. Poppy tells him, “I need your help. I need to find my daughter.” Luna listens from behind the doorway.
Poppy tells Bill she’s been processing and trying to make sense of the things her daughter did. Bill says a child is largely shaped by their environment. Poppy smirks. She admits she may have failed Luna as a mother, and that haunts her. Her life could have been different if she’d made better choices. She was reckless and selfish. Poppy tells Bill she knows that her influence on her daughter may have caused a lot of damage. Bill says, “That… and not knowing who her father is.”
Poppy says the real reason she’s there is that she went to the prison to see Luna, but she wasn’t there. All they’d tell her is that she was still in the system. It made her wonder if she was safe… or if she doesn’t even want to see her! “Luna set me up to spend the rest of my life in prison for the murders of Tom and Hollis, so my feelings about her are complex.” But she has to see Luna… there’s something she needs to know. In her hiding spot, Luna frowns.
Finn Keeps His Secret
In Finn’s office, Li asks her son why Poppy was there. “Something medical?” Finn says no. Li has a pretty good idea why she was there. “She wanted to talk to you about Luna and everything that happened in our home all those years ago.” She thinks Poppy confided in Finn about Luna’s father. She needs someone to confide in after she accused her of having an affair with Jack in their family home. Li goes on that she could have stepped up more for Luna as a kid. “I failed my sister. I failed my niece.” Instead, she pushed Luna away and didn’t allow her to get to know her family. That poor girl has never known a father in her life. Finn nods. It could have made all the difference. Li muses, “I wonder if we’ll ever know. The questions still remains. Who was Luna’s father?”
Steffy Wonders What’s Next
At the Forrester mansion, Steffy tells her parents that Finn is nothing like Sheila or Luna. Taylor thinks it’s a tribute to their relationship that they’ve overcome all they have. “We just pray you’re never tested again.” Steffy says she and Finn have been through more than any couple every should and have come out the other side stronger. But if she’s being honest, she doesn’t think the feeling will ever go away… waiting and wondering what she and Finn will have to face next.
