During one of his many promotional appearances for Special Forces, Kody was questioned by FOX 5 New York about his strained relationships with his older children from ex-wives Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown.

He responded, “I am only partly to blame. All of my children had a great relationship with me until the divorces.”

“When the divorces happened, the children were the victims,” Brown continued. “They had to pick sides, and because of polygamy, they had closer relationships with their mothers.”

Leon Brown, Meri’s child, has now spoken out, challenging Kody’s narrative and labeling him a “liar.” Leon had taken a step back from the show for several seasons but made a special appearance after Garrison’s suicide on May 5th, 2025. At the time of his tragic death, Garrison was not on good terms with his father or Robyn. The Brown family was brought together for multiple memorials honoring Garrison.

Leon stated, “Let me be so f**ing clear: I have not heard from that man since my brother killed himself.” Leon added, “He blatantly blew me off at Garrison’s funeral. He is a liar, he is a joke of a father. That’s all.” Leon’s partner, Audrey Kriss, also called out Kody’s alleged fabrication of the truth on the Viall Files Instagram, stating, “Verifiably not true.”
