Landman Season 2 Has No Excuse Not To Give Demi Moore A Bigger Role After Season 1 Wasted Her – Breaking News Updates

Demi Moore, who plays Cami Miller in Landman, needs a bigger role in the future of Taylor Sheridan’s show, and there’s no excuse left after the first season wasted her. The ending of Landman season 1 saw quite a few developments. Among the most important was Monty Miller’s (Jon Hamm) death, which kickstarted a chain of events that made Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) the president of M-Tex and gave Cami the power to decide to gamble with his money. That also gave Cami a much bigger role in the finale of Landman season 1, but that trend needs to continue in the future.

Though Landman season 2 isn’t confirmed yet, the success of the first season makes it extremely likely. The end of Landman season 1 also set up quite a few new developments that will be perfect for season 2 to explore. However, the show has also killed off a big chunk of the cast of Landman, like Monty and Cooper’s first workover crew, so it will either need to introduce new characters or lean on existing ones more heavily. That provides the perfect opportunity for Demi Moore’s Cami to get the sizable role she should have started out with.

How Landman Sets Up A Bigger Role For Demi Moore’s Cami
Tommy Runs M-Tex After Monty’s Death, But He’ll Still Answer To Cami On Most Things

Even though Tommy is the president of M-Tex, Landman still set Cami up to take a bigger role in season 2. Tommy insisted that Cami be on a board to oversee his decisions as the executor of the Miller family trust. That means Cami will have a direct say in all the decisions Tommy makes with Monty’s money, and the fact that Tommy asked Cami what she wanted to do about the farm out deal indicates that he’s going to include her more in the M-Tex’s business decisions. She won’t completely replace Monty, but Cami should prove to be an important part of Tommy’s professional life.

She won’t completely replace Monty, but Cami should prove to be an important part of Tommy’s professional life.

The fact that Cami can’t completely replace Monty also means she should have more screen time in Landman season 2 than Monty did in season 1. Cami doesn’t know how to run a billion-dollar oil company, at least not nearly as well as Monty did. Cami will probably lean on Tommy quite a bit in Landman season 2 for guidance about the ins and outs of the oil industry and on which gambles to take and which ones to avoid. Given how little experience Tommy has with boardrooms and high society, however, Cami could be just as much of a teacher to him.

Monty’s Landman Death Hinges On What Happens With Cami
Cami Is The Only Person Who Can Secure Or Lose Monty’s Legacy

Along with taking a more involved role in M-Tex, Cami has another important task in Landman season 2. The entire reason Cami decided to gamble with Monty’s money was because her husband wanted to be remembered for how he used his money to change the world. Cami is going to have to figure out how to get enough money to secure Monty’s legacy, and how to use that money to make the world remember him. Whether Monty is forgotten as just another oil tycoon or remembered as a great philanthropist falls almost entirely on Cami’s shoulders, which should give her plenty of pressure in Landman season 2.

Why Demi Moore Deserves A Bigger Role In Landman Season 2
Demi Moore Barely Did Anything In Landman Season 1 & Her Performance In The Finale Proves She Needs More In Season 2

The main reason Demi Moore needs a bigger role in Landman season 2 is because she barely got a chance to prove herself in the first season. Through eight episodes, Cami was basically a background character who had no bearing on Landman’s plot whatsoever. It wasn’t until the finale of Landman season 1 that Cami actually got to have a full conversation or make a decision that impacted other characters, and by then the season was almost over. Demi Moore, however, is a Golden Globe-winning star, and she deserved a role she could really shine in.

Landman’s misuse of Demi Moore isn’t the only reason she deserves a bigger role in the future. In just a few scenes at the end of Landman season 1, Moore stole the show. Cami’s grief and desperation in the hospital was palpable, and her determination and fire when she told Tommy to “roll the dice” was even more moving. In a matter of minutes, Demi Moore proved that she’s one of the most talented actors in the cast of Landman. It would be a shame to finally let her showcase her acting talents only to give her a similarly unimportant role in Landman season 2.
