When Kody Brown watched three of his four wives leave him in rapid succession, it set off something in him that made him want to end things even with the last remaining wife.
These days, the duo are handling monogamy quite well to the extent Robyn even managed to secure a spoken promise from Kody that he won’t run back to polygamy.
Kody Brown Calls The End of His Polygamy “Terrible”
Kody and Robyn have been managing each other quite well I’d say, especially since Christine, Meri, and Janelle left the chat – um marriage – respectively.
However, Robyn was growing panicked that Kody might revert back to the old ways. Seems like Robyn doesn’t want anymore sister wives competing for a share of her husband’s love.
Well, she doesn’t have to worry because Kody’s current mentality is turned against Polygamy.
“It’s hard not to be bitter about the fact that I bought off on it and did it because in the end, in the last moments of it, it felt terrible,” he said. “I’m like, literally bitter sometimes.”
“I don’t want to be flippant with my answer because we were devoted to this, but I’m not interested in plural marriage anymore,” he then explained to the cameras. “I don’t want to pursue another woman because I don’t want that headache, the questions, the struggles, the wonder about trust. I’m not in that space.”
Kody Brown Confesses That At One Point During the Plural Divorce He Felt Like Abandoning Robyn Too
While Kody Brown has healed enough to consider sticking with a one-wife situation – again, I say for now – there was a time when he was ready to break every manner of marital chain.
“Because I’ve been in plural marriage for so long and it was a sole focus of marriage for me, when we failed at it, I was sabotaging myself,” he explained.
“There were days unfair to Robyn that I thought about just walking away from our relationship, too. And that was just because I was so broken, I became self-destructive.”
After reflecting on the ways he tried to sabotage the relationship, the Brown patriarch actually did something he doesn’t often do. He actually apologized “for the dark space I went through and how it harmed you because it wasn’t fair to you.”
