On Days of Our Lives, Johnny made an incredibly stupid move. He walked in on what he thought was Alex having sex with his wife, Chanel. However, he didn’t confront them or confirm it
was Chanel. Instead, he left and stewed for quite some time. Alex actually slept with Stephanie while secretly helping Chanel plan Johnny’s surprise birthday party. When Johnny finally
exploded and told her what he thought of her for cheating, he had a mountain of egg (or cake) to wipe off his face when he walked into his own surprise party and learned he was mistaken.
He’s Got His Work Cut Out For Him
Poor Johnny (Carson Boatman) has a lot of making up to do. We’re not even going to attempt to figure out why he didn’t realize Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) was with Stephanie (Abigail Klein) and not Chanel (Raven Bowens). But it happened, and Johnny will have to do a lot to make it up to his wife. To that end, “Johnny kind of love-showers Chanel out of guilt,” Boatman told Soap Opera Digest.
Johnny’s problems are much worse than simply jumping to the wrong conclusion and insulting his wife for her perceived infidelity. He went to a bar, got drunk, and unloaded his problems on Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins), whom he just met. The next thing you know, Joy’s mother Nancy (Patrika Darbo) wanted to know why she found a man’s wedding ring in their hotel room. Although not explicitly shown, there is a strong implication that Johnny and Joy may have slept together.

Lie Upon Lie
Boatman explained that Johnny is now panicking, worried that he’ll lose Chanel. “He believes that the only way he can stay in and save his marriage is to keep [his tryst with Joy] a secret and let Chanel know how much she means to him,” he explained. He also stated that Johnny’s going to engage in a lot of groveling.
“The worst part is, Johnny’s trying to cover up a lie with another lie, and then he’s covering up that lie with another lie. It just gets so messy,” Boatman stated. He further explained that Chanel can never find out that he was with Joy, even if the two just happened to fall asleep with no hanky panky. So Johnny’s resolved. “He feels the only way that he can save his marriage is by continuing to try and keep this a secret.”
