Fri July 26, 2024: Today on Young and Restless, Claire refuses to spy for Kyle, Lily is unimpressed by
Billy’s latest idea, and Phyllis advises Summer on how to fight.
Thursday’s recap: Ashley convinces Abby not to back out, Traci invites Alan to L.A., and Summer is given
temporary emergency custody.

At Crimson Lights, Summer tells her mom that her lawyer secured a temporary injunction, preventing Kyle from taking Harrison out of the country without her permission.

Kyle reacted like a spoiled baby.
Phyllis thinks this is great and tells Summer she has her to thank for it.

Her mom advises to document everything and put it through the courts.
Summer tells her how much she appreciates her. Phyllis wonders if her heart is breaking just a little.

Summer says she’s not upset. She got what she wants.
She begins venting about Claire sticking the knife into her about how excited Harrison was for the trip.
She shows her mom the drawing he made.

Phyllis is sure this was calculated to make her feel bad.
Summer thinks she should be experiencing all the fun things with her son, not some nanny.
Kyle thinks she’s being selfish but he’s jumping into bed with Audra and needs to be taught a lesson.
Her mom warns Kyle will retaliate. Summer has no idea what he will do. The new version of Kyle scares her.

When Kyle arrives at the Abbott residence, Harrison and Claire are looking at a book about Paris.

The kid is excited for the chance to climb the Eiffel Tower to find out if they can see all the way to their house.

Kyle tells his son he’d like to do that, but he can’t take them on the trip this time.
He promises that his son didn’t do anything wrong. He’ll make it up to him.
Claire reminds him they have to go to the zoo and the dinosaur museum. At least his mom won’t miss him.
Harrison guesses it’s okay.

His father is proud of how well he’s handled this and promises they can go another time.
Harrison hopes Claire and his mom can come too.
After he runs off for his grilled cheese, Kyle tells Claire how rough that was. Summer is always making everything about herself.

She admits she may have overstepped by telling Summer how bad Harrison would feel about the trip being canceled.
He’s nervous about leaving town. Who knows what Summer could do while he’s gone?
He asks her to keep an eye on things.

She points out that Summer already doesn’t trust her and he apologizes for putting her in the middle of this.

Harrison returns and his father suggests they go to the park for ice cream.

Summer and Phyllis are in the park talking about her plans to take Harrison places like Niagara Falls.

She feels like she’s missed out on so much by not living with him.
Choking up, Phyllis says you never get those years back. She often thinks of missing Daniel’s childhood.
She knows she did that to herself. It kills her.
Summer doesn’t want those regrets and her mom assures her she won’t.

Her mom urges her to take time off and spend more time with her son while Kyle is away.
Summer thinks they could use fun time. Her mom tells her to take lots of photos for the judge.
“You gotta be thorough when you go to war,” Phyllis urges.

Kyle, Claire, and Harrison arrive.
The kid runs over to his mom and tells her that they aren’t going to Paris anymore.

Harrison says Claire has a lot of fun plans for them while his dad is gone.
Summer adds she’s taking time off to spend time with him so they can have fun.
As he hugs her, Summer smirks and Kyle and he fumes.

At Chancellor, Billy shows Lily the new company logo he had designed. He says it really sends a statement.

It has Abbott in huge letters that dwarfs Chancellor.
CBS
She reminds him that Abbott is really only known for perfume. This makes no sense.
He can’t see that. This doesn’t surprise her.
CBS
He thinks this is a sign that they are a new, vibrant company. She thinks it’s more than that.
He finds this disagreeing exhilarating. She doesn’t. She wants the transition to be smooth and evolving.

The Abbott aspect should be more subtle. He agrees to that.
After he walks out, Devon shows up. His sister hopes he’s not there to call her a traitor.

Actually, he came to announce he’s marrying Abby.
This doesn’t surprise her and she asks for details. It wasn’t exactly romantic.
CBS
Lily jokes that he’s marrying Abby to show he doesn’t need her.
Abby will have her work cut out for her, dealing with him all the time.

She gives him a hug and tells him she wants him to be happy.
He notices the new logo. “Looks like someone’s wasted no time at all,” he says.

She already sent Billy back to the drawing board to fix it. Devon is sure he will keep pushing her.
She’s determined to prove him wrong. They get back to talking about the wedding.
When he’s ready to pick cakes, he can call her.

After he leaves, she looks at the logo and sighs.
By the elevators, Billy tries to make small talk with Devon.

Billy doesn’t think they should keep butting heads.
Devon asks what he said to Lily to convince her to stick with him since he will self-destruct.
He warns that when that happens and Lily is cast aside, it will make him even more of an enemy than he already is.
Nikki meets her daughter at Newman Media and asks how it feels to be back. Victoria feels like she’s back at school and baffled about it.

Her mom hopes she’s not doing all this just for Victor.
They discuss the plans he has for Chancellor and Nikki admits she spent a lot of time wondering what Katherine would think of all this. That’s what makes it so tempting.

Nikki asks her daughter how she really feels about the fall Billy will suffer.
Victoria thinks her ex is being unfairly blindsided. Her father seems to relish the idea of hurting Billy.
CBS
Nikki says the vindictiveness is putting an ugly light on this. Her daughter worries what this will do to the children she says with Billy.
Worrying about this kept her up all night. She hasn’t seen him so excited in years. He’ll see this as an unforgivable betrayal.
Victoria used to think her father had a soft spot but it seems to be gone.
Billy finally has the chance to be the kind of man his father would have wanted him to be. Having that taken away could crush him.

Nikki wonders if she will warn him. She won’t stop her.
Victoria needs to know if running Chancellor is something she really wants before she decides.
CBS
Nikki admits it would be a huge leap from Newman Media to Chancellor. It would be a big learning curve.
She was up all night thinking about it. It’s all going so fast.
She’s want to keep Lily, but would she want to stay? Her daughter is sure she could make Chancellor better.
“I want it very badly,” Nikki admits. It’s not just the challenge, it’s the connection to Katherine.
She was her friend, mentor, and inspiration. If this happens, she will feel like she’s honoring her memory.

This is enough to convince Victoria not to say anything to Billy. She’s also sure her father could be underestimating Billy.
She might have to remind the kids this is the Newman way. They hug.

“And that is?” asks Nick.
“Lily Winters. I wonder where her loyalties lie,” explains his father.
“Something happened? Something you’re not telling us?” Billy asks Adam and Chelsea.

Adam nods.
“What do you want us to admit? What exactly is it you want us to confess?” asks Chelsea.
CBS
“Oh I have clearly overestimated the amount of respect I thought I had instilled in you as an Abbott. I raised you better than this!” Jack lectures Kyle as Diane and Audra watch.
