Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers indicate a bit of a behind-the-scenes switch up is set. According to Deadline, Bold and the Beautiful’s

(B&B) longtime supervising producer, Edward J. Scott, is heading back to the Y&R after 14 years.

The report reveals that Scott will be entering a senior producer role, working with Executive Producer and Head Writer Josh Griffith. More

The Young And The Restless News – Edward J. Scott Is Heading Back “Home”

As many fans know, Scott began his career at the Y&R. He started off in 1976 as an associate producer before climbing the soapy ladder to become producer, and then executive producer.

By the time 2004 hit, Scott became supervising producer. He left the show in June 2007 and went to Days of Our Lives (DOOL) where he entered the role of executive consultant, and eventually became co-executive producer.

He left DOOL in 2008 and would enter the B&B as a producer in 2010, eventually becoming supervising producer in 2011.

He’s remained with Bold since, and now it looks like he’s headed back to where it all began!
Of course, the Y&R was also where he met his wife, Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman). The two met on the set and have been married for almost 40 years, tying the knot in 1985.

Y&R News – Edward J. Scott’s Legacy In Daytime Drama

Scott has been nominated for numerous Daytime Emmys for his work on soaps, winning five during his time on the Y&R and one while with B&B. He was also nominated for a Daytime Emmy once while with Days.

This makes it no shocker that he and his wife Melody won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Daytime Emmys this past June.

No details on the exact date that Scott will exit B&B and enter the Y&R, but it’s exciting to know that The Scotts will be reunited as colleagues at some point, very soon!
