Days of Our Lives’ Shawn may end up doing something drastic to save Bo’s life, at the risk of losing his job.
It can be very frustrating when a loved one needs help, and there’s nothing you can do. On Days of Our Lives, Bo has been convalescing in a long-term care facility, and it’s been revealed that he’s got sepsis and is going to die. His son, Shawn, put him there when he erroneously shot him, and he started to spiral after learning that Bo may die. But now there’s a possible cure that’s still in the testing phases. And Shawn may do something drastic to get his dad the treatment.
He Wants Redemption
Dr. Russell (Michael Dietz) has a potential cure for sepsis but refuses to give it to Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to use on Bo (Peter Reckell). The serum is still in the animal testing phases, and he can’t in good conscience allow her to use it, or the FDA will put the kybosh on it, and no one will benefit from it.
Brandon Beemer, who plays Shawn, opened up to Soap Opera Digest about his character’s determination to save his dad, no matter the cost. The outlet asked him if Shawn’s guilt over shooting Bo is his driving force. “It would completely redeem him and get rid of all of the guilt that he has had for what he did to his dad, if he can save his life — if he can be part of it.”
Whatever It Takes
Beemer elaborated that Shawn loves his father so much, and he is really important to him. Therefore, Shawn ” has to be part of it.” He must become the catalyst that saves Bo, and if swiping the cure to use is what needs to be done, then he’s going to do it. Shawn and Steve (Stephen Nichols) have joined forces to get Bo the cure.
The actor further emphasized, “Shawn needs to save his dad’s life. His job doesn’t matter to him. His dad’s life matters.” He also noted that Shawn is going to do whatever it takes to get the medicine to his father, “Even if it means losing his job and getting arrested.”
