CORONATION Street star Simon Gregson is facing yet another eye-watering bill as he prepares to sell his family home to help clear a £250,000 debt.
The soap favourite, best known for playing Steve McDonald, revealed his latest money headache as financial pressures continue to mount.
The 50-year-old was left stunned after being quoted sky-high insurance prices for his son’s 2010 VW Polo.
One quote came in at a staggering £7,000 a year, while another wasn’t far behind at £4,000.
Sharing his frustration online, Simon said: “Moaning from sunny Cheshire.”
He explained: “Even the four grand, it’s still miles more than the car is worth. How can the insurance be worth more than the car?”
“I’m not great at Maths, but even I know that does not compute. What is that all about?”

“This country, and car insurance, among other financial things, has gone crazy!”
Fans were quick to weigh in, with one replying: “It’s not about his car. It’s about the risk and potential liability costs if he hits another car or injures someone.”
They added: “A lot sadly is based on age and experience… but you are right, prices are crazy!”


Another agreed, sharing: “This is beyond crazy!”.
Simon is a self confessed ‘petrol head’ and regularly appearing at car events and even hitting the podcast circuit to share his love of motors.
Simon shares three sons with wife Emma Gleave – Alfie, 19, Henry, 17, and Teddy, 10- with the insurance quote believed to be for one of his teenage boys.
The Sun recently revealed that the actor is currently complying with an order to repay a £252,000 loan – but is sadly still on course to lose his house.
He faces having to sell his house over the closure of his firm which went into liquidation owing the tax office and a bank £165,000.
Simon triggered a confidential report to the government on his conduct after transferring £252,000 from Simon Gregson Productions Ltd into a private account.
The actor recently revealed to his Instagram followers that he is now selling vacuum cleaners to raise some extra cash.
Simon posted a video of himself vacuuming his living room floor with a Karcher Cleaner.
Running through the settings and attachments, the Coronation Street star gave a full sales pitch straight from his living room in a bid to tempt buyers.
The star has also revealed to fans that he is selling his car amid his ongoing financial trouble.
He posed with a thumbs up next to his 2005 black Ford Fiesta, as he shared that he’s selling his car at an auction.
The skint star has also been earning extra cash as a Coronation Street tour guide.
Cast members pick up £500-a-time showing fans around the soap’s iconic studios.
And Simon – who has also been clobbered with a £100,000 tax bill – has joined the roster at the Street’s HQ in Greater Manchester.
