Coronation Street Soap Scoop! Steve’s sad death news
Coronation Street has aired another clue as one character’s death looms. Last week the soap’s special flashforward episode showed Betsy Swain discovering a dead body, shortly after the April wedding of her mum Lisa and Carla Connor.
The identities of both the victim and culprit are yet to be revealed but a number of characters are confirmed to be in the frame to be killed off — Megan Walsh, Theo Silverton, Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, and Maggie Driscoll.
Maggie is a strong contender to make an enemy, especially given her past history, with a flashback airing last year which showed her killing her husband.
Since her arrival on the Street, we’ve seen how protective Maggie is of her family, with her protecting grandson Will after he attacked Daniel Osbourne on Christmas Day.
Recently, Maggie has been trying to come between her elder grandson Ollie and his new love interest Lauren Bolton, believing the barmaid is not good enough for him.

Tonight (24 February) Maggie interrupted, as Ollie invited Lauren for a date in the Bistro.
When Lauren excitedly said yes, Maggie reacted disapprovingly, asking who would be looking after Lauren’s son Frankie.
After Ollie left, Maggie told Lauren she didn’t “approve” of workplace relationships and said her and Ollie were from “very different sides of the tracks”.
Maggie then reminded Lauren that she owns the pub she works in and she’s also the one who draws up the rota.

Later, as Lauren was getting ready for her date, she confided in Betsy that Maggie doesn’t approve of her and Ollie.
When Lauren told Betsy she needs to keep her job, her friend persuaded her to go through with the date, joking that she could even become landlady one day.
But Lauren didn’t appear to take Betsy’s advice, as later Ollie was left alone at the Bistro having been stood up.
Will Maggie’s meddling backfire on her if these tensions turn dangerous?
