Coronation Street is reportedly lining up a return for Jamie Cho, with the actor set to reprise his role as Rich Pemberton after a two-year absence. Though the exact nature of the comeback is unspecified, it is said to revolve around the storyline involving Alya Nazir.
Cho portrayed the smooth-talking solicitor in a handful of appearances across April and May 2024, with the character being linked with Alya as she decided to move to Dublin for a work placement.
Alya has since returned to the cobbled streets of Weatherfield, and The Sun has reported that Rich will soon follow suit as he seeks her out, with Cho set to reprise his role for a short stint.
“Rich is back on the cobbles and wants something from Alya,” a source told The Sun. “The last time he was here it led to her leaving her life behind and moving abroad for work so whatever he’s got planned might not be good news for Alya and boyfriend Adam.”

In addition to his role in Corrie, Cho has had parts in major franchises such as the James Bond series and Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, while he can currently be seen as Lord Stotter in the fourth season of Bridgerton.
While Rich will be back as part of the storyline involving Alya, one of the ITV soap’s other major arcs is a murder-mystery that unfolds on the same day as the wedding of Carla Connor and Lisa Swain.
Though the culprit and victim are yet to be identified, five people are in the firing line following a flashforward episode, with one of those being the mischievous Carl Webster.

During an appearance on This Morning, actor Jonathan Howard teased upcoming events, saying: “Carl’s going to get into some trouble. [He’s in] a few fights, yeah. Things are going to get pretty bad for Carl.
“I’m just going around disrupting everyone. I’m stealing off my mum, I’ve already stole my brother’s wife, I’ve done a hit and run with Tyrone, I’ve got teenagers stealing cars for me. I’m not the nicest on the Street at the moment.”
