It wasn’t that long ago that Coronation Street’s Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) was being accused of being a little bit boring.
Since Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) went away to India, Aadi has been in charge of his dad’s business and has been determined to make a success of it. That left little time for socialising or fun.
That all changed recently, of course, as Aadi decided to throw a party. This went disastrously wrong when Nina (Mollie Gallagher), Summer (Harriet Bibby) and Lauren (Cait Fitton) ended up taking LSD.
Lauren – who was unaware she’d taken the drug – wandered off and was terrified by hallucinations of Joel Deering (Calum Lill). She ended up falling and being badly injured.
In the aftermath of this Aadi has tried to make amends with Lauren, and in upcoming episodes it’s clear to others – but not to Aadi – that Lauren has growing feelings towards him, unaware that it was indirectly his fault that she ended up taking the LSD.

Lauren is obviously angry and upset that she was apparently spiked at the party. Aadi had a chance to tell her what had happened but bottled it. His guilt has led him to try to help Lauren by lending her money and she’s been grateful for his help, but her attitude would definitely switch if she knew the truth.
At this point Aadi is probably wishing he could go back to being boring again, but he’s in for more drama when the corner shop is robbed by a masked intruder. The thief escapes from the shop and is seen by Lisa (Vicky Myers) and Carla (Alison King) as he flees.
A shaken Aadi tells Asha (Tanisha Gorey) that the robber threatened him with a wrench and forced him to empty the safe. His sister reassures him that he’s the victim of a crime and he shouldn’t blame himself.

When the police arrive, Aadi tells officer Jess Haywood (Donnaleigh Bailey) that he thinks the robber took about £6k in cash, but luckily their insurance will cover it.
Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) notices that his behaviour is quite shifty as he says this. Is he hiding something?
