Coronation Street star Adam Hussain has landed a brand-new acting role as his time on the cobbles comes to an end.
The actor, who has played Aadi Alahan since 2020, is starring in a powerful new short film titled Spice For Life, which has just been released on YouTube.
The 12-minute drama sees Adam take on the role of a foster child struggling to connect with his care worker, played by Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter, until the pair bond over a love of cooking.
The film was created by filmmaker Saleem Miah, and is based on his own experiences growing up in the foster care system.

Speaking to ITV News, Saleem explained: ‘I grew up in foster care myself, I moved about quite a lot. I grew up in Oldham, and I was placed with a lot of white families, which I think is quite like a unique, interesting upbringing.
I’ve always wanted to make a film about it. The story it’s fictional, but a lot of the scenes in it I have kind of got from my own life, really.
But I’ve been really lucky in the sense that I’ve met people along the way that have supported me.’
He added: ‘I feel like people have assumptions, don’t they, and they sort of assume that kids in care, you’re not very smart or, like, you’re a troublemaker, you’re not ambitious.
‘I’ve always wanted to be an example of someone that doesn’t sort of fit those stereotypes and just proving that we can be just as good as anyone else at something and we can live really good lives.’

Spice For Life is Adam’s first post-Corrie role since announcing his departure from the show earlier this year.
Breaking the news on Instagram back in April, Adam wrote: ‘I guess the secret’s out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.
‘Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little.
I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family. This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later.
‘I’m excited to see what the future brings! Thank you Coronation Street for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time.’
Adam first stepped onto the cobbles in 2020, taking over the role of Aadi Alahan, the son of Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin).
Over the past five years, viewers have watched Aadi grow from a background teen into a central part of Weatherfield life. He’s been at the heart of dramatic plots, including surviving a horrifying fire at the corner shop flat, clashing with his father over favouritism towards his twin sister Asha, and facing racism in a powerful storyline involving a knife attack.
