Coronation Street enthusiasts believe they’ve uncovered a secret pregnancy on the cobbles and who is expecting a child.

Next week’s spoilers reveal an unexpected pregnancy revelation that leaves a Coronation Street stalwart stunned.

In the forthcoming episodes, David Platt’s daughter Lily complains of a tummy ache. However, her dad dismisses it as a school avoidance tactic and sends her off to class.

Later, David vents to his sister Sarah Platt about Lily’s recent squabbles over a boy and her attempts to skip school, which raises Sarah’s concerns.

The plot thickens when David spots new neighbour Carla Connor disposing of rubbish in his bin. After rummaging through the discarded items, he discovers a pregnancy test, reports the Daily Star.

Assuming it belongs to Betsy Swain, a pleased David shows the test to his sister Sarah for a bit of gossip. But when she suggests it might be Lily’s, his amusement quickly turns into utter shock.

As the week progresses, Sarah uncovers a hidden pregnancy on the cobbles. Meanwhile, David is taken aback as the owner of the pregnancy test steps forward.

But can they keep it under wraps and who does the secret pregnancy test belong to?

One fan speculated: “Probably been someone walking by from another household and put it in their bin wouldn’t surprise me if it was Abi!”, while another viewer suggested: “David will assume it’s Sarah’s, he will ask Carla and Swain but I have a feeling it be Abi’s x” and yet another chimed in with: “It’s probably Abi!”.

Meanwhile, some fans are predicting that Bethany Platt could be expecting as her return to the soap is imminent. One person mused: “Bethany, can just see David taking the micky out of Sarah becoming a grandmother!” while another added: “Bethany’s is back very soon, maybe her..”

In other news, actress Grace Ashcroft-Gardner recently made her debut as Lily Platt, taking over the role from Brooke Malonie since July.

Lily, the daughter of David and the late Kylie Platt (played by Paula Lane), is also the half-sibling of Max Turner, portrayed by Paddy Beaver.

The role of Lily was previously played by Betsie and Emmie Taylor from September 2014 until May 2016, succeeded by Brooke Malonie later that year, before Grace Ashcroft-Gardner stepped into the role.

In related news, Lucy Fallon, who portrays Bethany, confirmed she had returned to filming for the ITV soap in July after welcoming her second child.
