Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner were together for almost two decades before Baumgartner filed for divorce in 2023. This came as a shock to the former, who felt the case hit him out of the blue.

Two months later, the duo had finalized the divorce, with Baumgartner asking for $248,000 a month in child support. Costner quickly pointed out the exorbitant demand that his ex-wife had placed, ending up paying $63,000 instead.

Following the ugly divorce, Costner immersed himself in his creative efforts, completing his passion project Horizon: An American Saga. However, according to Life & Style magazine, the actor is working on something more, a project closer to his heart.

An insider report via Life & Style states:

He’s got quite a musical following, and people will be interested to know his heart hasn’t healed and he’s got a ton of built-up angst to release. This is his chance to let off some steam and [share] his two cents without coming across as a total jerk

Looks like Costner is hanging up his cowboy boots, for now, to deal with his heartache first, exchanging his hat and pistol for a mic and a good ol’ bottle of whiskey. And his verses of sorrow might be his first steps toward healing, along with possibly penning a soulful banger that might become a staple at jazz clubs or bars.

The entire divorce proceeding went by really quickly, leaving Kevin Costner at a loss for words. While he watched his family drift farther away from him, Baumgartner reportedly had already moved on with Costner’s neighbor and former best friend Josh Connor, who was spotted having a good time with Costner’s ex-wife and his kids (via TMZ).

As per an insider report, this sudden change had rattled Costner from the inside. And he was unhappy with the entire ordeal:
