EastEnders’ fans are in for a shock as a beloved character has bid farewell to Walford.

The Panesar family has certainly had its fair share of drama over the past few months. Last year saw the end of villain Nish (Navin Chowdhry) as his reign of terror was finally brought to an end.

Recently, Suki (Balvinder Sopal) was left devastated when she discovered that her estranged daughter Ash (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) had got engaged.

Fans will remember that Ash left Walford back in 2023 for a new job opportunity in Canada, leaving behind a strained relationship with her mother.

Their feud originated from Suki disowning Ash due to her bisexuality and Ash’s decision to have an abortion during her teenage years, reports Plymouth Live.

Upon discovering Ash’s engagement, Suki was livid that she hadn’t been informed about this significant life event, leading to a clash with her loyal son Vinny (Shiv Jalota).

However, after receiving some advice from her wife Eve (Heather Peace), Suki tried to make peace with Vinny.

This didn’t go as planned, as Suki discovered that Vinny was secretly planning to attend Ash’s engagement party without her knowledge.

Furious, Suki confronted Vinny, resulting in a heated argument where Vinny blamed Suki for Ash’s departure.

In a shocking twist on Thursday’s episode (July 24), Vinny made a surprise exit from Walford to attend Ash’s engagement party in Canada, leaving Suki less than pleased.

In other news, Ash’s engagement has coincided with the personal life update of actress Gurlaine Kaur Garcha. The 31 year old starlet took to Instagram to announce her own engagement, sharing a stunning snap from her holiday in Ibiza.

Gurlaine shared her joy with a succinct caption: “v happy and v engaged!” which prompted a wave of well-wishes from former co-stars and fans in the comments section.
