Amid the constant drama that happens in EastEnders, there’s one resident who brings a great deal of light to counteract the dark stories happening in Albert Square: Oscar Branning.
Pierre Counihan-Moullier joined the cast of the BBC One soap in July of last year. It was the first time we had seen a slightly older version of Oscar, as the character had been living away from Walford ever since he was a child.
Oscar is chaotic and doesn’t really know what he wants in his life, but that’s perhaps what makes him so enjoyable to watch. The bumbling around, never being afraid to speak his mind, and constantly causing problems for the likes of Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) and Max Branning (Jake Wood) has made Oscar Branning – according to some fans of the show – the best addition in years.
What made audience members laugh a lot this week was Oscar Branning enjoying witnessing Mark Fowler Jnr (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) go for a run.

Pierre’s comedic timing was perfect once more, and it’s been clipped up and shared online ever since.
Taking to social media platform X, Beth wrote: ‘Pierre has been such a excellent addition to the show please let’s keep oscar branning for as long as possible he’s genuinely such a highlight of every episode #Eastenders’.
Also expressing their love for Pierre’s brilliant talent, Ryan said: ‘It’s the little things Pierre does that make me love Oscar even more #EastEnders’.
‘Oscar Branning is my spirit animal!’, another said.
Things are about to get even more hectic for Oscar as he gets himself a new love interest, who also happens to be the brother of his previous lover Jasmine Fisher (Indeyarna Donaldson-Holness).
Next week sees the arrival of Jasmine’s twin, Josh Goodwin (Joshua Vaughan) and his adoptive mum, Sandra (Dawn Steele).
Sandra asking questions about Jasmine arouses the interest of Kim and Denise Fox (Tameka Empson and Diane Parish), who, learning of Josh’s identity, endeavour to unite him with his grandad, Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker).

While they’re initially scuppered by Josh’s unwillingness to see his birth mum, eventually, he agrees to meet the Trueman family at large. When delivering the news to Denise and Kim, he and Oscar lock eyes.
With a sexy, bisexual love triangle set to unfold involving Oscar and the twins, is this the moment it begins?
