EastEnders’ Elaine Knight’s family pull together next week when they worry that she’s taking on too much after her heart attack.

With Anna returning home from her travels to chaos, will she be able to convince Elaine to slow down?

The Albert is hosting a big event, but Cindy has been left in the lurch by Felix’s sudden Walford exit and panics about being understaffed, so she decides to put Freddie in charge.

Freddie is overwhelmed by this responsibility and struggles to find entertainment for the event. As he fears that everything could be ruined, entertainer Elaine swoops in at the last minute with a perfect solution, impressing her love rival Cindy.

“Elaine is a natural showman, and strutting around in sequins to please her punters is what she does best,” says our EastEnders insider. “Even bitter Cindy can’t hide her gratitude to Elaine for saving the event, but Elaine’s loved ones aren’t so pleased…”

Back at The Vic, Linda is fretting that her mum is doing too much after her recent collapse, and fears that she needs more rest.

Soon, Anna returns from her trip to Spain but is instantly outraged when she learns that dad George has kept her in the dark about his divorce and the sale of The Vic.

Fearing for her ex-step mum’s wellbeing, Anna enlists Linda to try to get through to Elaine, but to no avail. In a last-ditch attempt to make the landlady see that she needs to take it easy, Anna begs George to talk to Elaine, insisting that she’ll listen to him.

“Elaine’s love for George was very real, so if she won’t listen to the rest of her family, maybe his words will sink in,” explains our source.

“Just because their marriage is over doesn’t mean that George doesn’t care – and he still wants the best for Elaine.”

But with Elaine attempting business as usual, can George get through to her before it’s too late?
