GOOD NEWS !! Coronation Street’s Sue Cleaver to reunite with soap co-stars after exit

Coronation Street legend Sue Cleaver is set to reunite with her soap co-stars for a special event after stepping away from the show.

Cleaver, who has appeared as Eileen Grimshaw on the ITV soap for 25 years, joins the line-up of stars taking part in An Audience with Coronation Street at London’s Dominion Theatre.

The show, which takes place on September 14, will be hosted by This Morning‘s Sharon Marshall and will also feature Jane Danson and Patti Clare, who play Leanne Battersby and Mary Taylor respectively.

According to a synopsis, the show will be an “unforgettable evening” that “brings you closer than ever to your favourite Corrie stars as they reveal behind-the-scenes secrets, share hilarious stories, and relive heart-warming and heart-stopping moments from the iconic ITV show”.

More stars are set to be announced for the show as well as dates across the country including Sheffield, Salford, and Glasgow.

Other Corrie favourites involved in the shows include Andrew Whyment (Kirk Sutherland), Jack P Shepherd (David Platt), Jimmi Harkishin (Dev Alahan), Jodie Prenger (Glenda Shuttleworth), Rob Mallard (Daniel Osbourne), Samia Longchambon (Maria Connor), and Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald).

Tickets are set to go on sale on Friday, March 14 at 10am and will be priced from £29.50 (plus a booking fee).

Cleaver’s appearance in the show comes after her iconic character Eileen is set to leave the cobbles after more than two decades.

Sharing the news, Cleaver said: “I’ve had 25 privileged years of working on Coronation Street. The door is still firmly open but as I reached my 60th year I decided it was time to embrace change, look for new adventures and live fearlessly.”

Producer Kate Brooks added: “We’re sad to bid farewell to the wonderful Sue Cleaver. Over the past 25 years, Eileen Grimshaw has been at the heart of some of the most memorable and iconic Corrie storylines, and her onscreen rivalry with Gail Platt will undoubtedly go down in Corrie folklore.

“There’s certainly no one quite like Eileen, and her character will be hugely missed on the Cobbles. We wish Sue all the very best as she embarks on her next exciting chapter.”
