It’s never easy to say goodbye and sometimes those goodbyes are never enough. Losing a furbaby is so very hard and
finding a way to keep their memory alive is sometimes the only way one can get past the horrible feeling of loss. General Hospital’s Rena Sofer (Lois) knows about such pain and recently showed fans what she did to honor her sweet pup Alfie.
The ABC soap star shared photos and videos from Shamrock Social Club, West Hollywood’s premiere tattoo shop, and stated, “Thank you to the amazing Julianne Ashby and Shamrock Social Club for the amazing new tattoo of my boy Alfie.” She went on to express what a “hard time” she had saying goodbye to her pup and how she wanted to “see his adorable face every day.” She added how the artist “did the most incredible single needle work and spent as much time” as needed to get all of the details just right. In closing out the post, Sofer sent a special shoutout to her husband Sanford Bookstaver for “being my all around photographer and emotional support everything!”
Back in March, the actress shared photos of her precious pup and announced that he had crossed the rainbow bridge. Filled with pain, she stated, “Cancer stole him from me, from Sandy, from Avalon and from his sister Mega. From everyone who knew and loved him. I love all my dogs… but without remorse… Alfie was my favorite. My heart and soul dog. I am destroyed and numb. The greatest gift we gave each other was each other. I will miss you forever and ever and ever.”
We are so happy Sofer shared her beautiful new tattoo with the world and in doing so, not only will she have her furbaby close to her forever, she has shown others that they too can have those they’ve lost with them as well.
