General Hospital’s Maurice Benard shared his concept of what life is all about.
The end of any year is always a time for reflection to contemplate the past 12 months as well as looking forward, perhaps with New Year’s resolutions. Considering General Hospital’s resident mafia boss Sonny Corinthos seems to be facing a major life crisis, he might also be headed for a reevaluation of things. Maurice Benard, His real-life alter ego, while thankfully not dealing with anything as life-altering, took some time to ruminate about life, the universe, and everything.
Inner Peace is Key
Benard shared a video on Instagram, and wrote, “I believe we all have ups and downs, Suffering, and pain-Happiness, and joy. What I strive for is that sweet spot. When the little things get you teary-eyed you’re not really thinking, you’re just totally in the moment. You [are] just grateful and appreciate what’s in front of you and what’s inside you.”
His deep thoughts were embellished in his video, where he sat outside in what looks like a sunset and stated, “[I’m] out here…and I’m just Taking it in. I got goats over there. Somewhere. And I’m wearing this jacket. It’s my daughter’s jacket and she’s very upset because I’m wearing her jacket. And I got this ugly hat, but I don’t care. Uhm…and I’m sitting out here just taking in the sun and just…the peace that I feel. And I asked myself what life’s about.”
Fans Couldn’t Agree More
Benard continued his thoughtful reflection about things, noting, “James Taylor has a song that’s called The Secret of Life…is knowing the passage of time. Fantastic. For me, it’s finding the peace within. The other side of chaos. When you find that peace, man, it’s…it’s amazing.” His words caused many fans to also reflect on life with one responding, “You are so right. Finding the peace within. I have finally found it. It’s a wonderful feeling. 🙌❤️,” and the actor replied, “Lucky you.”
Another introspective follower agreed, writing, “Nice to see you relaxed and just being you because it doesn’t get any better than that! I love to sit in nature and listen to the birds and just become a part of the beautiful nature around [me] ❤️.” The fans had a lot to say in response to Benard’s words, with one thoughtfully commenting, “You have this inner energy and kindness that comes out of every pore. When I see these videos of u sitting with yr goats and watching your beautiful grandchildren running by…u sir have unlocked the mystery of life and contentment…peace. Whatever u do I wish u love…”
