From the Thanks But No Thanks files: The day before Thanksgiving, a General Hospital viewer attacked Kelly Monaco on X, saying that she was to blame for her dismissal and “thought she
had more power than she did.”
The actress couldn’t let the dis go without a response. So she wrote back, “I do have more power than a ‘job.’ It’s my voice, my experience, my truth.
“You can beat someone down,” she added, “until they finally find the power within themselves to recover with grace and dignity. Those [who] choose to bully behind their power will suffer
their own consequences.”

Word that Monaco had been let go from her role of Sam McCall after 21 years leaked in August of this year. The character was killed off two months later.
Though no reason was given for her exit, Monaco, who made her daytime debut on General Hospital spinoff Port Charles, accused the show of “stripping Sam of every characteristic she had. Something I worked for decades to build. Slowly dismantling her, into a character that I did not recognize, let alone the audience.
“Call it what you will… retaliation at it[s] finest,” she went on. “I will give a proper statement. The truth will set you free.”
