General Hospital’s Joss Pulled the Trigger, But [Spoiler] Will be Blamed for Cyrus’ Death — Plus, the Worst Possible Week for a Temporary Recast. In this week’s #GeneralHospital soapbox, it’s completely obvious who will take the fall for Joss killing Cyrus. Plus, this might have been the worst week ever for fans of Elizabeth and Lucky

Lucky? Eh, Not So Much

Fans have been waiting patiently for Elizabeth and Lucky to reconnect romantically. When they finally did, sadly, it was Guy Wilson, not Jonathan Jackson, who was smackin’ lips with Liz. Not only that, it was not-Lucky who was there when Cyrus was taken down. Well, make that the other way around, given that Cyrus stuck him with digitalis. But we knew Lucky wouldn’t be a goner with Jonathan Jackson slated to return to the role, which he did by Friday. Of course, all he had to do that day was lay around and let Portia and Isaiah save his life.

Cyrus Admits to Everything Except…

Cyrus sang like a canary to Liz about the murders, which, not so shockingly, amounted to him believing God had appointed him to release souls trapped between this and the next world and send them to heaven. Sam and Dex sadly got in the way of his mission. We got a brief mention of Austin’s murder, but really, it was only to facilitate Anna & Co. learning Cyrus was hiding out at a cabin the late doctor owned. The show could have at least explained Austin found out what Cyrus was planning to do, so that’s why the madman killed him. Even Laura said on Friday that Cyrus seemed to start killing the moment he got out of prison. Unfortunately, with Cyrus dead, it feels like Austin’s murder will forever go unsolved.

Unhappy Valentine’s Day

It was good to see The Savoy again, and Chase surprising Brook Lynn with a singing performance was fun. However, I could have gone without seeing Willow and Drew this week. Drew had some nerve, thinking he’d be welcomed at The Savoy. Good on Curtis for kicking him out! Thankfully, Willow also rejected Drew’s offer to move in with him. Yeah, that would have really helped her already tarnished reputation around town.

Chase sexy undies GH

Chase’s second romantic surprise for Valentine’s Day went off the rails when Brook Lynn finally told him about her teenage pregnancy. Their talk was touching, and Chase’s support of his wife was heartwarming. Now, he’s offered to help her find Gio, er, I mean her “baby” if she chooses to. Of course, he might not be so open-minded about everything when he finds out Dante is the daddy, which is a big piece of info Brook Lynn left out!

As much as I miss Charles Mesure as Jack, I’m not disliking Chris McKenna’s take on the role. His mini-date with Carly was fun, as was his interaction with the completely adorable Donna. Seriously, why don’t we see her more often?

Joss did good in taking out Cyrus, who was utterly terrifying standing in that doorway with that axe. One commenter on Thursday’s recap likened him to looking like Jason from Friday the 13th. Jeff Kober likely scored himself another Daytime Emmy for his performances this week.

Cyrus sees Joss GH

However, Jack coming to Joss’ rescue and then explaining the reason he’d been feeding her intel was laughable. He told her she was special and would make an exceptional WSB agent. Even though I theorized that that was his motive in feeding her information weeks ago, it was more of a joking guess. Joss couldn’t even follow orders from Anna to stay out of this investigation, and she would never have put two and two together regarding Cyrus if not for Jack. How does that translate to her being a great WSB agent in the making? Yeah, Jack, let’s trust international secrets with the young woman who can’t keep her mouth shut!

Joss shoots Cyrus GH

Speaking of Joss keeping her mouth shut, that’s precisely what Jack told her to do regarding Cyrus’ death and his help. She can’t even make as much of a peep about it to her mother. So what will Joss do when Jason, who everyone heard threaten to make Cyrus disappear, gets blamed for what Joss did? Oh, you know that’s where this is headed!

A final thought… The show passed on the opportunity to make a mystery out of who killed Cyrus. However, that loss is another storyline’s gain. Who gunned down Congressman Quartermaine, anyone?

That wraps up my column for this week. As always, these are only my thoughts and opinions. Please leave yours in the comments below!
