There are so many amazing child actors on General Hospital. Scarlett Spears, who plays Donna, is no exception. She is now spreading her wings and has landed the role of a childhood icon.
From Mob Daughter To Famous Explorer
Donna is the daughter of mob boss Sonny (Maurice Benard) and his ex-wife, Carly (Laura Wright). She is the youngest in a long line of Corinthos children. Spears is perfect in the role and lights up on-screen. The actress has also appeared in Pink’s music video, “Never Gonna Not Dance Again”, as well as other series and commercials.
Spears (who squared off with Maurice Benard) has now been cast in a child’s dream job. She plays young Dora in the new live-action Dora the Explorer feature film, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado. Isabela Merced originated the role in the first film, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, but has been replaced in the latest edition by Samantha Lorraine. Spears is Dora’s younger self, and even has a scene where the explorer first meets her sidekick, Boots.

The movie is described as “the world’s greatest explorer and her friends will trek through the perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient treasure of Sol Dorado to prevent it from falling into enemy hands.”
The movie was filmed in Colombia in August 2024.
Spears’ proud mom posted some behind-the-scenes footage of her daughter’s time filming the movie, as well as her interactions with the cast and crew in Instagram. “It’s not every day your child gets to wake up and say she played young Dora in a movie. Her first feature film, at that.”
