Well, we certainly had our suspicions on General Hospital about what really happened to Sam — especially once we learned she’d been injected with digitalis. Actually, we had more than just suspicions. As the evidence started piling up, we were just about positive that all signs pointed to Cyrus being her killer. The thing is, we haven’t really been sure why he’d do it. And that uncertainty was enough to keep us from committing to the theory fully.

But now, General Hospital has removed all doubt as they’ve actually shown the moment that Sam was killed! It all started on the Monday, December 9th episode (you can check out the full recap here), when Dex ran into Cyrus doing charity work in Rice Plaza. The cop wanted to be sure Cyrus was staying away from Lulu, especially since he ignored Laura’s wishes once already. Dex had spotted Cyrus in the hospital on Lulu’s floor on Halloween.

Don’t worry, Cyrus assured him. He’s following the restraining order. Laura’s troubled brother then very pointedly promised he was not there to see Lulu on Halloween.

That got the hair on our arms standing up, but General Hospital didn’t stop there. Because at the end of the episode, Cyrus flashed back to sneaking into a hospital room with a vial of digitalis. We watched him inject it into an IV bag and then, after the deed was done, the camera pulled back and we saw exactly who we were afraid it would be: Sam. Cyrus put his hand on her sleeping head, left the room and that was that.

So now we know who murdered Sam: Cyrus. We’re just still struggling to understand why. It could be his twisted way to reunite Dante and Lulu. Or it could be some other plan entirely. One thing we do know is that if Dex starts putting together Cyrus being in the hospital right around when Sam died, he could be the next one in danger.
