You might want to wear something that isn’t flammable when you sit down to watch General Hospital the week of January 6. What’s coming up is, in a word,

combustible.

As you’ll see in the new promo ABC dropped below, an explosion tears through Sonny’s penthouse — and appears to put Michael down for the count. (Guess he’s destined to be the first character we add to our list of this year’s demises.)

Just before that, however, Sonny and Carly’s son disclosed to the godfather that he’d filed for divorce from Willow. Though Michael’s passing would save her from having to testify in court about her affair with Drew — and spare her from a nasty custody battle — it hardly clears away all the obstacles in her path. In fact, by week’s end, spoilers suggest that mom Nina and her ex Sonny will be teaming up to solve what they consider to be a problem.

In other developments, Isaiah reminds Portia and us that someone is running around General Hospital killing people. (As if we could forget!) At that very moment, it looks like the killer — Cyrus — is about to claim yet another victim.
