It’s been more than six months since General Hospital sent Spencer Cassadine to his watery grave
as portrayer Nicholas Alexander Chavez began to make a splash in primetime. And while in real life,
that’s no time at all, in soap life, it’s an eternity. But at last Spencer’s grieving girlfriend Trina Robinson
may be getting the spring back in her step: Gossip Girl vet Jens Austin Astrup has been cast as handsome Kai, who’ll meet Trina at Port Charles U.
will first appear in November. In addition to Max’s Gossip Girl, the up-and-comer has also appeared in a couple of short films and, as a kid, two episodes of The King of Queens.
Astrup’s casting comes at a time when the revolving door is really spinning at General Hospital. All My Children alum Alexa Havins (Babe) will soon debut as a recast Lulu Spencer (stepping in for Emme Rylan, who stepped in for Julie Marie German). Emma Samms and Jonathan Jackson just reprised their roles of Holly Sutton and Lucky Spencer, respectively. Sawandi Wilson has scrubbed in as doc Isaiah Gannon, followed by Van Hansis as a recast Lucas Jones and, next, Scott Reeves as Liz Webber’s brother, Steve. And Parry Shen is back in action as Brad.
