Hold onto your popcorn, soap opera aficionados! It seems our beloved Tate from “Days of Our Lives,” the charming Jamie Martin Mann, isn’t just fading into the Salem sunset. In a twist that’s more dramatic than a paternity reveal, Jamie is trading in daytime drama for the dazzling lights of Broadway! Forget the usual soap opera exits—this is a career move worthy of a standing ovation.

A Fond Farewell (and Hello Again!) to Tate

Let’s rewind a bit. Jamie Martin Mann first graced our screens as Tate, a character that quickly won our hearts. His portrayal was captivating, and fans were instantly invested in his journey through the intricate storylines of Salem. But then, just as quickly as he arrived, he made the surprising decision to step away from the limelight, focusing on his studies.

It’s been three months (and some might say far too long) in coming, but Holly is finally going to set the record straight on Days of Our Lives! First there’s tomorrow, where spoilers have her nearly making a confession to her mom that she was the only one responsible for the drugs that put her in a coma.

That, though, is just the tip of the iceberg as we know from the preview for this week that while she may not make the confession to Nicole, she does tell Eric — and that finally spills the truth out into the open once and for all! And that is not a moment too soon for Tate who’s been sent to rehab, stuck in a half-way house, arrested and had a restraining order slapped against him by EJ.

We can’t entirely blame Holly for those first two months of not telling everyone that Tate was innocent seeing as how she was in a coma. But her silence since then has been deafening and done a whole lot of harm to Brady and Theresa’s son.

Sitting at the foot of her bed, Holly scrunches her face at Tate.

And that, Jamie Martin Mann, admitted to Soap Opera Digest, has been a tough pill to swallow, not just as Tate, but as himself.

“I had a hard time justifying, as an actor, all of the actions that Ashley’s character was doing against me,” he explained. “That’s been really hard to do, because not only do I want to stick up for Tate as his portrayer, but I personally would never let someone walk all over me that much.”

Ultimately, though, he just decided that it boils down to Tate being a really good guy. “It is a testament to the endearing nature of Tate,” Mann shared, “and how much he cares about the people that he loves, which is the antithesis of the beginning of his character arc when he came in and was much less open and very apprehensive about his new life.”

So while the fans may be fed up with Holly and want Tate to be done with her once and for all, don’t expect him to feel the same. Once she does tell everyone the truth and Tate’s finally proved innocent and allowed to come home, we’ve got a feeling he’ll be all too ready to forgive her.

Tate holds Holly's face as he leans in for a kiss. With closed eyes she tilts her face toward him.

They aren’t quite to “love” yet, Mann admitted, but like any good soap, the stakes around their relationship “have gotten so high, so the feelings that they have for each other are inevitably parallel to those stakes.”

In other words, love is likely heading their way next! After all, as their parents could tell them, there’s just about nothing that can’t be forgiven when it comes to love. Over the years, their folks have done plenty that’s needed forgiveness! So what’s one little drug rehab misstep between young flames?

Do you think Tate should forgive Holly’s mistakes as that of a scared teenager and move on or thank her and move on when she finally comes clean?
