Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley has sent her best to a co-star who’s swapping the Yorkshire Dales for the cobbled streets of Weatherfield in a thrilling “new adventure” at ITV’s Coronation Street.
The beloved actress, known for her long-standing role as Mandy Dingle since 1995, took to her social media to post a touching message and bid farewell.
Lisa is known for keeping her followers in the loop with snippets of her life off-camera through her social media updates.
She recently uploaded a comical video where she appears in character alongside Joseph Hart, one of Emmerdale’s directors, who’s now headed to Corrie.
In the cheeky clip, Joe asks for an appointment at the hair salon to which Lisa, as Mandy, slyly suggests he try Audrey’s salon in Coronation Street, alluding to his departure from the beloved village.
Her post was brimming with affectionate words, as she expressed: “To our beautiful friend and colleague who we all adore at @emmerdale the stunning @hart_joseph we want to wish you all the love and luck in the world as you start your new adventure over the other side of the M62 at @coronationstreet.
“We’ll be so sad to see you go and will sorely miss your wonderful energy… Shine bright and they’ll soon be charmed by your amazing self just like we were. You’ve got friends for life here, lots of love from your #Emmerdale family.”, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The comments section lit up with reactions, including one from Eden Taylor-Draper, Emmerdale’s Belle Dingle, who shared: “Awww Joe we love you so much.”

Meanwhile, fans chimed in with their dismay, saying: “No he’s not allowed to leave!”.
Lisa gushed in her comment: “We love him so so so much-he will be adored at @coronationstreet they better look after him.”
Another keen fan expressed their good wishes on Instagram saying, “Aww good luck.”
This comes amid schedule shake-ups for both Coronation Street and Emmerdale this week, as ITV makes room for the UEFA Women’s Euros, disrupting the beloved soaps. Typically, fans immerse themselves in Emmerdale’s drama every weeknight from 7:30pm; however, with Spain v Portugal dominating ITV1 from 7:15pm for an 8pm kick-off this Thursday (July 3), the regular hour-long episode has been dropped.
Over at Coronation Street, where the cobbles usually see action on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm to 9pm, viewers will miss out on their Friday night visit to Weatherfield due to the Germany v Poland match at 8pm on July 4.
The official social media channels for the soaps alerted viewers with a note saying: “Heads up! Here’s a handy schedule of where to find us this week. Don’t forget – you can stream episodes from 7am on ITVX and YouTube, the same day they air on TV!” The message clarifies the shifts in programming, with both shows going off-air on Thursday and Friday.
Devoted soap fans expressed disappointment upon learning that their weekly routines would be interrupted, voicing their opinions online. One disgruntled viewer remarked: “It baffles me that they can’t put football on a sports channel! ! !”.
Frustrated fans took to Instagram to vent their irritation. One viewer exclaimed: “Just put the footy on ITV2 why change the schedule” while another lamented: “Not more disruption because of football. Sort it out Corrie.”
