EMMERWAIL Emmerdale star’s final scenes air as they quit six years after soap debut

EMMERDALE star’s Rachel Gill-Davis’ final scenes have aired after she quit the soap.

The actress – who played Gail Loman in the ITV soap – bowed out today in emotional scenes after suddenly realising she wanted more from life than working in boyfriend Ryan Stocks’ pub.

Gail was driven out of the village by Mary, as ex Ryan Stocks watched on

Instead she opted for a new life in Devon, having told Ryan she was no longer in love with him.

In today’s episode she said a goodbye to Ryan, insisting he was a catch, before being driven to the train station by Mary Goskirk.

The actress made her debut as Ryan Stocks’ girlfriend Gail Loman in 2019 for a brief appearance before making a shock return in 2023 for a full-time comeback.

However despite landing a role as a barmaid in The Woolpack and having a secret child return to her in a big storyline, Gail hasn’t become a permanent fixture in the village.

The Sun exclusively revealed how Rachael had agreed to leave the soap earlier this year.

A source said at the time: “Rachael has loved her time on the show but it’s time to go.

“Bosses felt the character wasn’t inspiring much story and so it was all very amicable.

“The door has been left open but it’s a definite goodbye for now.

“Rachael is looking forward to spreading her wings and showing off her talents on other shows.”

The actress opened up about her disappointment last year when she discovered she had been cut from a big budget Netflix production.

She had filmed scenes for Greeek mythology epic KAOS with an all-star cast led by Hollywood A-lister Jeff Goldblum.

But she was devastated to discover she had been axed just days before the show was released worldwide.

KAOS was cancelled by Netflix shortly after its debut.
