Easter weekend was a rough one for the residents of Soapland, with Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick joining Michelle Collins and Isabel Hodgins at the hospital.
Fans were incredibly worried when the actor, who stars as Vanessa Woodfield, shared a selfie to her Instagram story, in which she sported an incredibly sore-looking eye injury. As it turned out, she’d suffered a scratched cornea.
Ouch.
‘Anyone else had a scratched cornea? This happened Saturday night… little trip to A&E Sunday morning to be checked over,’ she began the caption.
‘Antibiotic cream for 5 days. Good job I’m not back in work til Friday! Thank you to our amazing NHS’

As mentioned, she wasn’t the only soap star who needed a spot of medical attention over the weekend.
Michelle Collins, EastEnders’ own super bitch, Cindy Beale, suffered a nasty fall, in which she wound up with a ‘bashed knee’, leaving her needing crutches to get around.
‘Fell over trying to stop Peggy bolting out the door while staying with friends in Norfolk. Bashed my knee, cuts and bruises’ she began the caption on a carousel of images, including one of the hospital in which she was receiving treatment and another of her knee in a brace.
‘Staff were great, #efficient [and] #kind despite apparently very low on hospital league table. I would never have known from the service I got.
‘Seems so unfair to label a hospital like this, not great for morale as one of the lovely nurses said. Also went to my local hospital @Finchleymemorialhospital who were great too! So lucky to have them so near me.
‘Happy Easter! Sitting down scenes this week! @bbceastenders’

Isabel Hodgins, who’s currently taking maternity leave from her role as Victoria Sugden on Emmerdale also had to attend an urgent care facility alongside her partner, Adam Whitehead, with whom she recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Georgie Grace, this weekend.
Isabel took to her Instagram stories, sharing an image of her snuggled up into Adam’s chest, with a caption that concerned a number of fans.
‘Today didn’t go to plan. There were tears…and a fear hours spent at urgent care getting checked over. The staff were so lovely and caring,’ it started.
‘There are some things they don’t tell you about postpartum recovery.’

She later posted an update, uploading a picture of her clutching a prescription bag following her urgent care visit.
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and messages,’ she began the caption.
‘The medication is definitely starting to take effect and I’m feeling much better.’

A few hours later, Isabel updated her Facebook page, sharing a picture of her cuddling up to her beautiful baby, while also giving fans a further update on how she was feeling.
‘Thank you so much for all the lovely comments and messages.
‘They honestly meant so much. Postpartum recovery was going well… until now, but taking it one day at a time.
