Emmerdale Soap Scoop! Kerry and Jai’s secrecy continues
Emmerdale‘s Jacob Gallagher fears reprisals from his bullying boss Dr Todd next week – after he makes another unfortunate mistake. Are his problems at the hospital about to get worse?
The ITV soap has announced plans to explore the issue of workplace bullying in the coming weeks, as Dr Todd makes Jacob’s life a misery. Caroline Harker is reprising her role as the formidable medic, who was initially introduced to the show for a handful of appearances early last year.
Fans see the first clues to the storyline in Thursday’s episode (26 February), as J
acob chats to his girlfriend Sarah Sugden on the phone and drops hints about trouble at work.
We’ll witness this for ourselves in Friday’s episode (27 February), as a chaotic shift at the hospital leads to Jacob being told off by Todd. And it’s fair to say that she doesn’t hold back…

In follow-on scenes next week, Jacob opens up to his grandfather Eric Pollard about his issues with Dr Todd – but soon regrets saying anything.
“Jacob is mortified when he realises that Dr Todd is standing right behind him,” our Emmerdale source explains.
“While Jacob has a point over his boss’s harsh management tactics, he fears that it looks unprofessional to vent about her to a family member.”
Jacob makes an excruciating apology to Dr Todd – and braces himself to see how she’ll react next.
Later, he gets his answer when Todd reveals that she has chosen him for her all-important mentorship programme.
While Todd is painting this as a lucrative opportunity, Jacob is far from enthusiastic and dreads having to spend even more time in her company.
“Jacob’s new story will delve into the realities of workplace bullying and power dynamics,” our insider adds. “This time, Dr Todd will be back for an extended run, so we’re clearly just at the beginning of this story.
“As Dr Todd bombards Jacob with unfair criticisms and raises issues with his progress as a trainee doctor, he starts to crumble under the relentless pressure.
“Things only get worse when Dr Todd becomes a more regular face around the village, blurring the lines between Jacob’s professional and private life.”
