Jacob Gallagher will have an explosive row on Emmerdale, with Sarah Sugden and Cain Dingle feeling the brunt of his anger after their own secret was revealed. With the pair’s criminality exposed, will Jacob be able to look the other way?

Sarah and Cain have gotten closer after he disclosed his cancer diagnosis, though he is yet to tell anybody else. Furthermore, they even went as far as to steal Joe Tate’s car in a bid to earn some money, but the secrets will come out soon.

In upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, Cain attempts to put his foot down, and tells his granddaughter that he won’t be involved in further thefts. Sarah, however, is hellbent on making money after an outbreak threatens the farm.

She spots a flash sports car parked outside the village hall, and is eager to drive it away. She’s stopped in her tracks when her husband Jacob notices her, and he is aghast at her actions.

Furthermore, he has skin in the game as the vehicle belongs to his boss, and is adamant that he doesn’t want his medical career to end because of this. He demands Sarah tell him the truth, but she relents.

She feels it best to keep Cain’s diagnosis a secret, but the situation spirals as Jacob confronts him and demands answers as to why he’s helped Sarah. He isn’t the only one who is furious, with Charity airing her own thoughts.

Facing harsh words from nearly all directions, Cain leaves the argument for some time on his own. With the walls closing in, will he take Sarah’s advice and inform his loved ones about his health battle?

While Jacob will have his personal troubles, it won’t be smooth sailing at work either, with Caroline Harker set to reprise her role as Dr Todd, the no-nonsense hospital worker who serves as Jacob’s boss.

In scenes that air on Friday (27 February), Dr Todd shows Jacob no mercy as she criticises him for his work, a move which leaves him embarrassed. She hardly offers him any sympathy, but how will Jacob react?

“Jacob’s previous dramas at work were arguably his own fault – he’s certainly made some mistakes since he started training at the hospital,” our Emmerdale source explains.

“But this is the first sign of Todd perhaps going too far and abusing her position. It’s the start of a big story for Jacob, which plays out over the coming months,” they added.
