Emmerdale confirmed further details of Gail Loman’s exit storyline as Ryan Stocks was taken aback.

Recent weeks have seen Gail become disgruntled regarding her job at The Woolpack, with the character often feeling underappreciated. This has seeped into her relationship with Ryan, with Gail wondering if greener pastures were calling.

Wanting to be appreciated more, Gail has recently begun planning a themed ‘Mr & Mrs Night’ at The Woolpack with the help of Mandy Dingle, with one game including questions that test the strength of the romantic relationship in the Dales.

Tuesday’s (6 May) episode began with Gail continuing her preparations for the themed night, with the character joined by Ryan, Mandy, Paddy and Kerry as they performed a trial run at the salon after Charity denied them space at The Woolpack.

After Mandy waxed lyrical about her relationship with Paddy, Gail and Ryan’s bond looked shakier as they regularly put different answers to each question, with tensions flaring after they each shared contrasting views regarding their future.

After Gail remarked that Ryan had been “shutting her out”, the pair assessed their relationship when they returned home, with Gail proclaiming that they were on “separate train tracks” when they should be closer than ever.

Despite Ryan believing that some independence was good, Gail explained that she “wanted to be in love”, casting doubt on her future with Ryan in the process. As she stormed out of the room, Ryan stared blankly as their relationship was left in tatters…

It was confirmed in March that Rachael Gill-Davis, who first portrayed Gail in 2019, would be departing the soap later this year after a full-time two-year stint, though sources have reported that the “door has been left open” for the actor to reprise her role in the future.
