The Square marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day, but Nigel gets confused and believes that it’s 1995.
Jean finally persuades Mo that it’s okay to celebrate even though Martin has died, but Linda is determined to keep The Vic closed. When Linda spots that the market traders are full of VE Day spirit, she changes her mind and reopens the pub.
The Walford community is united as they celebrate those who have been lost – including Martin.
Meanwhile, Kathy seeks solace with Harvey but they’re interrupted by Jean, who fails to notice the romantic connection between them. 
Harvey decides to invite Kathy on a caravan holiday, but the plan is ruined when Jean finds the brochure and the Slaters assume that the break is for them.
Elsewhere, Vicki struggles to forgive Ross after yesterday’s revelations.
