EastEnders has dropped a dramatic new trailer teasing one of this year’s most explosive Christmas storylines.
First-look photos already teased the big reveal of Cindy Beale and Junior Knight’s affair, which is set to come out over Christmas Day in a
special double episode. And the new teaser, released today (December 11), shows how it’ll all go down as the Knights and the Beales spend
Christmas together — and it’s bad news for Cindy.
The trailer, which can be seen above, hints Elaine may learn about the affair before the rest of the family but refuses to help her husband’s ex-wife get out of a sticky situation.
“We need to work together on this, Elaine,” Cindy pleads, to which Elaine responds: “I don’t think so. This is your problem, not mine.”
Things take an even more tense turn when Cindy’s daughter Gina finds a flash drive wrapped up as a present. It even has a label on it urging the recipient to play it for “festive fun for all”.
The drive contains an accidental recording from Freddie’s birdwatching microphone in which Cindy spoke candidly to her ex David Wicks and confessed to cheating on Ian. She also professed her undying love for her ex-husband George.
“Do you know, sometimes I’m in bed with Junior, I close my eyes and think of George,” she said.
Though Cindy finds out about the drive and begs for the recording to be given to her before everyone hears it, it’s too late. We later see George put the flash drive in his laptop — and it seems he’s about to play it in front of the packed pub.
The trailer ends with a distressed Cindy in the cold after seemingly being turned away from the family festivities at the Vic. What will she do now?
