EastEnders has continued airing its dramatic explosion storyline, confirming the first victim of the ordeal at The Vic.
Tonight’s hour-long episode saw the whole of Walford coming together to help those trapped in the pub after Reiss Colwell crashed his car into the building.
In the final moments of the eventful episode, it was Reiss who lost his life after reuniting with Sonia Fowler.
Earlier on in the episode, Sonia’s sister Bianca Jackson urged the police on the scene to catch Reiss before he could pull a runner.
In previous episodes, Reiss was finally caught out for his wife Debbie’s death, though he tried to implicate Bianca for the murder.
Amid the explosion chaos, a pregnant Sonia, who was stuck in The Vic’s kitchen with Lauren Branning, realised she was in labour.
Bianca managed to enter the pub to support her sister. As the trio attempted to find a way to get Sonia safely to a hospital, Reiss reappeared, insisting he was still in love with her and wanted to be a part of their baby’s life.
“Sounds like congratulations are in order,” Reiss said, trying to get closer to Sonia.
“You’re a freak! You’re a murdering freak!” Sonia said as Bianca fended him off with a rolling pin.
“This baby will have nothing to do with you,” Sonia growled as Bianca shoved Reiss to the floor.
“Why don’t you drop dead?” Bianca said.
The building continued creaking, eerily indicating it could collapse any minute. Some debris fell right beside Reiss, who said smugly: “That was close.”
Before he could get back on his feet, a bathtub dropped on him and squashed him to death.
Bianca went to check on him, telling Sonia and Lauren that he was gone for good.
“Good,” Sonia replied coldly.
Meanwhile, Martin Fowler remained trapped elsewhere in the pub after he and Stacey Slater had a romantic, if ill-timed, reunion.
