EMMERDALE fans have been left stunned as they spotted A Touch of Frost star in the soap.
Fans of the long-running show tuned in on Thursday night for its hour-long instalment.
Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) faced an unexpected turn of events during his first day in A&E.
He was left in hot water with Dr Todd when he told April Windsor’s parents that her body had been found.
However, when they came into the hospital to identify her, it turned out it was not her body.
But as the drama unfolded, Emmerdale fans were shocked to discover Dr Todd is a very familiar face.
The medic was played by TV star Caroline Harker – who is best known for A Touch of Frost.
She starred as Hazel in the crime drama series, which ran from 1992 until its axe in 2010.
Reacting to her Emmerdale debut, one fan said: “Recently she was in Joan, she was the posh lady, they stole the painting from.”
A second wrote: “I knew I recognised her face!”
“Brilliant actress, loved her in A Touch of Frost,” said a third.

Later in the episode, Dr Todd urged him not to give up and praised him for caring for patient Henry Miller, who suffered a cardiac arrest.
Jacob got another shock during his shift when Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) collapsed in the hospital.
