Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that fans are gearing up for the return of Bo Brady (Peter Reckell), along with the love of his life, Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso), at some point this spring. Things look grim for Bo right now, as he’s dying from sepsis.
However, it looks like the heroes of Salem have got this – and it won’t be long before Bo gets saved and Salem’s prodigal son returns once again. With that said, actor Peter Reckell recently addressed his status on the Peacock soap.
Here For A Good Time, Not A Long Time
The last timefans saw Bo was in April 2023 when he was accidentally shot by his son, Shawn-Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer), and landed in a coma. It sounds like both Bo and Hope have a brief storyline return this time around, so they won’t be in Salem for that long.
Still, Reckell jumped on the social media platform, X, addressing inquiries he’s received about returning to the soap for a longer stint.
Reckell writes in his tweet, “I would love to go back, the show just has to find room for me. Thanks so much for your continued support, it means a lot after all these years!!!”
Peter Reckell’s History As Bo Brady
Reckell originated the role of Bo, entering the canvas in 1983. Hope and Bo fell in love shortly after the fact, getting married for the first time in 1985.
Reckell appeared on and off as Bo until 1992, which is when actor Robert Kelker-Kelly was recast in the role. Still, Reckell would step back into Bo’s shoes in 1995.
The actor exited in 2012 but was never given a proper send-off. There was no real closure for Bo or Bope fans at that point, so when he returned in 2015, DOOL audiences were ecstatic.
Sadly, Bo was only brought back for a short arc, as the character was diagnosed with a brain tumor. As quickly as Bope reunited, Bo passed away in Hope’s arms. Many viewers were simply devastated.
However, in 2022, new hope (see what we did there) emerged for Bope! During the Peacock special, Beyond Salem, it seemed as if Bo was alive and in a cryogenic state.
Unfortunately, when he was eventually unfrozen in 2023, he was a shadow of his former self, and it took weeks for Hope to reunite with Bo, and even longer for him to start acting like himself.
Of course, just as Hope finally got through to him, Shawn shot him, thinking he was protecting his mom.
Many fans are wishing for the romantic reunion they’ve been waiting for, for over a decade now! Will it happen? Only time will tell!
