Did Days of our Lives August 26 Put a Target on Steve’s Back? Steve tries to do a favor for Stephanie 💌, but in Salem, no good deed goes unpunished 😬. Returning Gabi’s retainer might have just earned him enemies on every side—DiMeras, Kiriakises, and more. Can Steve navigate this minefield without getting burned? ⚡🔥👀

On the August 26 episode of Days of Our Lives, Steve let Stephanie talk him into returning Gabi’s retainer and not telling her what he’d found out about Philip’s con and why Xander is going along with it. Did he just manage to piss off both sides of this conflict? Which will only come back to harm him?

In This Corner

Stephanie (Abigail Klein) complimented her Poppa on his “impressive detective work” when he explained how he got Andrew (Colton Little) to figure out that Victor’s (John Aniston) codicil naming Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) as his heir was a fake. Stephanie asked Steve (Stephen Nichols) to keep quiet — for her sake. And Alex’s (Robert Scott Wilson). And Xander’s (Paul Telfer). Also Philip’s.

Xander, Gabi, Steve, Alex, and Stephanie are featured in the Tuesday, August 26 episode of Days of Our Lives.

Stephanie pointed out her dad didn’t really care if the DiMeras got their company back, did he? Steve admitted he didn’t. Then he hightailed it over to Gabi’s (Cherie Jimenez) to return her check. (Why hadn’t he cashed it up till now? Doesn’t he have expenses?) But now Steve has made enemies of basically… everybody.

Team DiMera

Gabi is unhappy with Steve. But, more importantly, Tony (Thaao Penghlis) will be unhappy with Steve. And EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) will be unhappy with Steve. And Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) will be unhappy with Steve. Now Steve is a smart guy. He can take care of himself. But why should he have to? Yes, he loves his Sweetness Stephanie. But she has very little skin in this game. So why take the risk of having to fend off the DiMeras?

Threat Alert

Steve is doing this for Stephanie, and she’s also doing it for Alex, Xander, and Philip. But will they be grateful? Or will they see Steve as a threat—a threat they need to get rid of?

Stephanie thought she was asking Poppa to do something nice for her boyfriend and his family. But, as we learned from Wicked, no good deed goes unpunished. What if the Kiriakis clan decides that the only quiet Steve… is a dead Steve?
