Jacob Gallagher was full of regret on Emmerdale after he inadvertently contributed to the arrest of Sarah Sugden.
Jacob has been spiralling in recent weeks following the tragic death of his mother, Leyla Harding. He ended his relationship with Sarah as he battled through the various stages of grief.
Sarah has since begun seeing newcomer Kammy Hadiq, with the pair growing closer following his arrival in the Dales last month. Despite breaking things off with Sarah, Jacob has come to regret his decision and is jealous of her new relationship.
Kammy, who has been working alongside Sarah in a trial period at the garage, found himself in a spot of bother after he was wrongfully accused of scratching a customer’s car, with Cain Dingle firing the pair following a heated argument.

Sarah then apologised to Cain and she hugged him, but slyly revealed to Kammy that it was all a ruse to steal his car keys. Kammy later drove the vehicle out of the village, though he was spotted by Jacob as he committed the crime.

Jacob, meanwhile, had already called the police to report the stolen vehicle, and Cain urged the police to find it. When an officer pulled Sarah aside, she grew increasingly anxious as he approached the boot.
The officer later told Cain that Sarah was the one driving the car, and had been arrested for the theft at the haulage yard, despite his best efforts to defend her. Jacob overheard this, leaving him regretting his actions almost immediately…
