We’re not quite sure if Vivian and Philip working together on Days of Our Lives constitutes a match made in hell, but we are pretty certain it’s a deal with the devil! Not the literal one, mind you. This time. But Vivian is far from a saint, and she makes Philip’s darkest impulses look downright heavenly compared to her own.

While Vivian, in her own twisted way, insists Philip is her son, he’s never particularly wanted anything to do with the woman who gave birth to him after stealing Kate’s fertilized egg with Victor — unless she could be of help to him. And that’s exactly what’s happening right now.

Vivian, John-Paul Lavoisier explains to Soaps.com, is the one who found “a way to get Philip back into the picture legally.” It gives him the boost and the power he needs “to win the battle of Titan from Xander. Nobody else was stepping. Vivian is the one who stepped in. Vivian’s the one who threw [Philip] the life preserver to keep from drowning under Xander’s [attacks].”

Things, though, are never what they seem when Vivian’s involved, and Philip would do well to remember that. But while he’s probably not as cautious as he should be, his portrayer certainly is!
