On the February 25 episode of Days of our Lives, Ari and Liam connected at a bar… and kissed when she needed to hide from Gabi and Philip. By the end of the evening, the two exchanged names and numbers and made plans to “hang out” again. And we are loving this!

From the moment Marissa Reyes assumed the role of newly aged Ari, we’ve been waiting for her to get a juicy storyline. The actress is more than capable of it and has a great screen presence. But instead of a story, complete with love interest, Ari has been stuck listening to Holly’s (Ashley Puzemis) whining, Tate’s (Leo Howard) insecurity, and Sophia’s (Rachel Boyd) craziness. We’ve been waiting for her to go off on her own, and Liam (Hank Northrop, who talks about soaps being the perfect training ground) may just be her chance.
Mystery Man
Liam intrigues us. He’s a single dad, a petty criminal, and he’s being sucked into EJ’s latest plot against his will. There are multiple directions to go in here, and we’re excited to see where the flirtation with Ari leads. She’s no saint herself. Will Liam encourage Ari’s worst instincts, or will Ari be able to bring out the diamond in the rough?
Three’s a Crowd
And then there’s Liam’s son, Gage (Jack Griffin Ferrero). Ari spent her life as her mother’s precious only child, and she not only has one dad but also a bonus dad! This girl has been the center of attention her whole life. Would she be able to step aside and come in second with Liam? Will Ari think she’s too young to be a fill-in parent, or, having been raised by a mom and dad who had her in her teens, will she be attracted by the possibility? Could “LiAr” be the young couple Salem has been waiting for?
