Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) and Jack (Mathew Ashford) returned to Salem for John’s funeral but, along the way, they learned that Chad (Billy Flynn) was drifting back to Cat (AnnaLynne McCord), the woman who impersonated his late wife, Abigail (Marci Miller), and, oh, yeah, SET HIM UP TO BE KILLED. They are not unreasonable when they say they don’t want her around Abigail’s children — or Chad.

Marlena (Deidre Hall) is trying so hard to stay strong for her family. But they don’t want her strong. They want her to admit her grief. Carrie (Christie Clark) is there to comfort her stepmother. But will Marlena allow it?

University Hospital

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) may not have enough money to keep the hospital lights on, but there is still a lot of drama taking place in its rooms. Kate (Lauren Koslow) is sitting by Philip’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) bedside, begging her son to wake up from the beating Xander (Paul Telfer) gave him. A few years ago, Kate was happy to fake Philip’s death. Now, she doesn’t want it to turn into the real thing.

Meanwhile, Sophia (Rachel Boyd), Tate (Leo Howard), and Amy (Shi Ne Nielson) do a tour to prepare for Sophia giving birth. Never understood why expecting mothers were taken all around the place. Do they need to know about any room other than Labor and Delivery?
