Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins) may decide there’s nothing left for her in Salem. At this point, Joy already feels pretty isolated with the exception of the bond she’s found with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson).

DOOL fans know Joy’s been singing Alex’s praises since she feels like he’s the one person left she can count on.

Joy lost her friendship with Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) after her secret with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) blew up, so Alex’s support has been critical for her lately.

That’s why Alex seems reluctant to stomp all over Joy’s heart now. Joy and Alex had just started to explore a romance when Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) confessed her true feelings to her former flame.

Although Alex hasn’t dumped Joy yet, he’ll have to do it sooner or later.

Of course, Joy could easily walk in on a passionate moment between Alex and Stephanie first!

That could leave Alex scrambling to explain, but Joy may argue it’s crystal clear that Stephanie is the one he wants.

Joy will probably feel stupid for letting herself believe she was important to Alex when she was mostly a rebound.

Alex may insist Joy indeed matters to him, but Stephanie’s the one who stole his heart – and she’s never really let it go.

There’s always been something threatening to bubble up between Stephanie and Alex again, so Joy will just have to accept that.

Naturally, we have to consider what’s next for Joy once this Alex split happens. Alex and Joy weren’t an exclusive couple yet, but it’s still going to sting when he chooses Stephanie over her.

That may leave Joy feeling bitter and heartbroken enough to just leave Salem behind. Could this be Joy’s Days exit arc?

Joy is under contract at Body & Soul, but a decent lawyer could probably get her out of that due to all the stalker danger on set.

Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) could also willingly let Joy out of that contract, especially if it means Chanel will come back to the show instead.

Whatever the case, Joy’s character has never been properly developed.

It seems like Days just needed Joy for plot purposes that have already been served, so it makes sense to send Joy off canvas now.

Joy doesn’t appear to be featured in any long-term Days spoilers, so is this the end of the road?

Will Joy ultimately head back to New York or perhaps somewhere else for a fresh start?
