Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers indicate that 12 EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) shooter suspects have been revealed, but who will really pull the trigger? Now that Days’ long-awaited mystery storyline is set to begin, there’ll be plenty of Salemites looking guilty.

Let’s go down the list of the suspects that DOOL’s offered up so far and talk about their motives.

It could help narrow things down when it comes to the culprit in this exciting whodunit.

1) Kristen

We certainly wouldn’t put it past Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) to shoot EJ, especially since he made Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) disappear. That said, this would be a risky move on Kristen’s part – especially since she’s worried about more CPS drama.

2) Rafe

Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) endured a lengthy captivity stint and is now furious over what happened while he was out of the picture.

Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) slept with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) due to Arnold Feniger’s (Galen Gering) actions, so Rafe has every reason to go after EJ for ruining his life – especially since EJ isn’t paying behind bars.

3) Jada

Of course, we can’t ignore Jada herself as a shooter option since she’s worried she might’ve lost Rafe following her Shawn hookup confession.

Could Jada be angry enough to try and wipe EJ off the map?

4) Gabi

Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) nearly shot EJ not too long ago, so she’s definitely a contender on the list of potential EJ shooters.

You can be sure Gabi will land on the hot seat after EJ takes a bullet, but will she actually be responsible?

5) Johnny

Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) has been mulling over weapons in EJ’s presence lately and could be tempted to shoot his father over what he did to Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).

The fact that EJ derailed the adoption could be the last straw, so suspicions will swirl around vengeful Johnny once EJ is wounded and hospitalized.

Once Sami returns to town, she may make some unsettling predictions about Johnny’s guilt and put him through a grilling session.

6) Chanel

Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) hates to see what Johnny’s going through and is angry over the failed adoption too, so could she go as far as firing at EJ?

It might seem extreme, but Chanel is worth keeping in mind as a potential culprit.

7) Paulina

Now that EJ has blown Chanel and Johnny’s chance to adopt Tate Black (Leo Howard) and Sophia Choi’s (Rachel Boyd) baby, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) wants some revenge of her own.

EJ is also evading justice in the Rafe imposter swap case, so could Paulina take matters into her own hands?

8) Kate

Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) told Johnny the true story of his conception and infuriated EJ in the process, so EJ delivered some threats against Kate’s own children.

Now Kate feels obligated to protect her kids, so she’d surely be willing to shoot EJ to do that.

9) Roman

Once Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) realizes how much of a threat EJ poses, he’ll have a motive to go after the most loathed DiMera.

Roman could be tempted to just get rid of EJ for good!

10) Belle

Belle Black (Martha Madison) is being presented as a possible shooter suspect as well.

EJ tried to act like Belle could never escape her burning desires for him, so could she shoot him to sever their twisted connection?

11) Shawn

Shawn also has great reasons to hate EJ since he slept with Belle and totally upended Jada’s world. Since EJ isn’t paying legally, could Shawn decide to make him pay a different way?

12) Ava

Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) let Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) borrow a gun that Ava’s already been tempted to use multiple times.

It looks like Ava will dispose of that weapon after EJ gets shot, but will she be to blame or just a case of misdirection?

Naturally, there’ll be other potential EJ shooters who get revealed over time, but Days is starting things off with these 12 suspects.

In reality, the true culprit will likely be someone totally unexpected who emerges as a last-minute suspect down the road.
